Improve you health with
herbal medicine

Natural approach to health which incorporates traditional herbal medicine practices with the most up-to-date scientific knowledge

My name is Anita Wąsik, PhD, DipHM

Welcome to my website and herbal medicine practice. I am medical herbalist and biomedical scientist. I spent several years working as a biomedical scientist in Poland, Germany, and Finland.

Through my own personal experience with prolonged health problems, I realized how challenging it was to find integrative practitioners that were focused to treat holistically the root causes of an undoing health condition. That experience combined with my love of the natural world, an empathetic nature, a strong desire to help others and my curiosity for a holistic approach to healing led me to herbal medicine. I am very grateful for this experience because I have found myself and my path in this busy world. I have stepped on the path I was meant to take. I feel even closer to nature, and I feel that I can really help others.

”At the beginning I was somewhat reserved about herbal medicine, but I wanted to give it a try. Since then, I’ve received help from herbs for acute problem, such as stomach pain and flu symptoms, especially for cough. I have, also, been helped by Anita to fight a chronic infection and to help lift my longer-term low mood. I want to thank Anita, especially for listening and for the willingness to find the causes for the problems. She is also patient in explaining the purpose of each treatment. I can warmly recommend.”

First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere)

Herbal medicine provides care with compassion and therapeutic alliance and utilizes methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects.

Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam)

The herbal medicine approach seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness, rather than eliminate or merely suppress the symptoms.

The Healing Power of Nature  (Vis Medicatrix Naturae)

The body has an inherent ability to establish, maintain, and restore health. The healing process is ordered and intelligent. The key is to create an environment that allows the body to heal itself. Herbal medicine acts to identify and remove obstacles to recovery and to facilitate and augment this healing ability. The medical herbalist's role is to facilitate this process, to identify and remove obstacles to health and recovery.

Doctor as Teacher (Docere)

The medical herbalist's major role is to educate and encourage the patient to take responsibility for their own health. The medical herbalist is a catalyst for healthful change, empowering and motivating the patient to assume responsibility. It is the patient, not the medical herbalist, who ultimately creates/accomplishes healing.

Treat the Whole Person (Tolle totum)

Health and disease are conditions of the whole organism. Herbal medicine treats each individual by taking into account physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and other factors.

Prevention (Preventir)

Herbal medicine approaches emphasize disease prevention, assessment of risk factors and hereditary susceptibility to disease and making appropriate interventions to prevent illness.
